I just took a break from reading "The Brothers Karamazov"--and just typed the question: "What are russian women..."
I like your wise answer--positively surprised about the insight and sincerity--
Long live you and you russian princess!..
Hope some of the men out there will take the wisdom...
Regards

I apologize for bad English.
Information is true, but there is false information. but I am not writing to criticize. I want to tell a little about my country.
I live in Russia. I was born in the Urals. you know where the Ural Mountains? my city with them. in Russia there are many holidays. We are celebrating three new year: new year, old New Year (January 14. NEW YEAR on the old calendar) and the new school year ( September 1. when children begin to learn). The summer holidays last 3 months - all summer long. Weather rarely pleases warm Ural region. Hot only 3-4 weeks. Snow from October to April.
that's all. If you have any questions, please. I'll tell you.

..OK, I'll tell you. as far aa nature is concerned, everything is 'high quality' - birches, cedars, etc. Best insulation for houses? 'log' houses properly built. Seasons for frolicing? End of May-Mid September, still depends on where you live. At Teletskoye lake and some places of Baikal average winter temp is about -9 or -10 - not so cold. ‘dog-sleds’ and snow mobiles are further to north. Climate is just like in North USA or Canada. Without funds? You really don't need much. Most important is that you can buy land. A lot you can make by yourself. Too old? Some people retire and live there with nature and live excellent. Forget their deseases, forget about chasing for money to pay all bills, just have real life. Good for children - you are never worried about who they are friends with - children might have real childhood there. Just go there and see kit yourself. better have 2-3 months for visiting it. Have a tent with you, it will save your money.

It is beautiful, nature is virgin, some indigenous people live in yurts, I like wooden houses. Woods are everywhere, so it is not so expensive to build a house there. Cold, but who cares? Real food, clean air, water - best place to live in our drastically changing world.

The VIP lights the oligarchs get are the same as for the KGB, the Kremlin, the police, fire, emergency and other high end purposes. If any police step in to stop them then the police are at risk too.

Essentially what the oligarchs are saying is "We don't need no stinking badges." Reasonably the people need to put a stop to this. Isolate one of them in their cars and perform a citizens arrest.

I wonder how houses are built, in Siberia. Are there natives that live in yurts or igloos? I love the Birch Trees. Do you build canoes with the birch bark, like our Native Americans? The quality of birch bark is not so good, here because they don't reserve the good bark for canoe making, they just timber it with the rest of the forest. What makes the best insulation for keeping a house warm? I think one could make a great 'log' house with so many trees. Do you have seasons where you can frolic outdoors without being too cold? Do you have 'dog-sleds' and snow mobiles? What kind of oil is used in cars so they can start in such cold? Wood stoves must be popular. Natural fibers for clothing and real animal fur must be very important. I love the hats that I have seen in Russia. The wild flowers and trees sound so wonderful and I would love to see them but probably only in a film as I couldn't plan a trip to Russia now, I am too old and without funds. Thank you for telling me about Siberia.

I love this site. I am a librarian in West Virginia, USA. I offer programs for the chldren who come to our library. I have been working with the very young children (birth to 3 years old)doing Mother Goose nursery rhymes. I thought it would be fun to use nursery rhymes from other countries around the world. One of the countries I chose was Russia as I grew up in a very large Russian and Slavic community. I really like the way the rhymes are explained and the interesting things you suggest the children do while learning the rhymes. Oh, please consider adding audio. This is a wonderful site.

It's very interesting to read about our nation. Most of this info is true, but alcohol is really problem for Russia. And you forgot to notice the ability to unite against global problems.
However, I thought that popular foreign impression or opinion are bears, vodka, winter and so on.
